At the age of three, Gabrielle Susanne Kerner was given the nickname NENA. The name would stay so much so that she chose it for the stage. After a first band in which she sang in English, the German artist returned to her mother tongue. This led to a first hit, then a second one that exported her music to the four corners of the world: 99 Luftballons. With her new wave rock, NENA stands out and shines, even today, more than 40 years after her debut.
