Tokyo, 2012. A collective is created in the streets, improvising, with no precise goal, just for the beauty of the sound. Soon, the collective becomes a band, and Kikagaku Moyo is born. From their music emerges a captivating nostalgia, marked by rock, folk and traditional Indian music. Returning to the roots to escape from them, that’s what the talented multi-instrumentalists of this mysterious and endearing group have to offer.
Hom Yu and Jiun Chi are linked by family ties, but also by shared passions. From traditional Taiwanese sounds to film music and video game soundtracks, their childhood is filled with sounds that attract them. They quickly appropriated them to create Mong Tong, a duo with an indescribable style, a touch of psyche and completely addictive: a tribute to the vibrations of their lives.
